APRILIA SR Motard 50 (2013-2014) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2014, the Italian motorcycle maker released the Aprilia SR Motard 50, an aggressive-looking scooter created for riders searching for a fun, fast, and elegant way to cross busy city streets.

The Aprilia SR50 was a scooter manufactured by Aprilia in 1992 and produced until 2021. Over 800,000 units were sold in 1992, and several engines were used, sourced from Morini, Piaggio, and Minarelli.

Aesthetically, the 2013 model came with standard fittings, like front fairing with a single headlight unit, a one-piece dual seat with passenger grab rails, a single exhaust system mounted on the right-hand side, and ten-spoke black-finished alloy wheels.

It was made around a split single-cradle frame with high-tensile steel tubes. The suspension system comprised a hydraulic telescopic fork with 90 mm of travel on the front and a single shock absorber on the rear, with the engine acting as a swingarm.

The braking performance was achieved by a 220 mm brake disc mounted on the front wheel engaged by a dual-piston floating caliper and a 140 mm drum braking unit, offering optimum stopping power.

In the performance department, the 2013 Aprilia SR Motard 50 had installed a 49cc two-stroke single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine managed by a carburetor, pushing the scooter to a top speed of 90 kph (56 mph) (unrestricted) and 45-50 kph (28-31 mph) (restricted).
