In 2012, the Italian motorcycle maker released the Aprilia SR Motard 125, a scooter that brought fun and sportiness to riders' daily commutes. The scooter was characterized by an aggressive, essential, and compact appearance with great acceleration and agility.

Visually, the scooter had standard fittings, like a front fairing with a single headlight unit and a small handlebar-mounted cowl with integrated turn signals. A one-piece dual seat with pillion grab rails, a single shock mounted on the left-hand side, and ten-spoke lightweight alloy wheels.

The scooter was made around a single-cradle tubular steel frame that housed a hydraulic telescopic fork on the front with 86 mm of travel and a four-way spring preload-adjustable shock absorber on the rear with 82 mm of travel, acting as suspension.

As for the stopping power, the scooter's 14-inch wheels were fitted with a 220 mm brake disc on the front tied to a dual-piston floating caliper and a 140 mm drum braking unit on the rear, providing optimum braking performance.

As for performance, the 2012 Aprilia SR Motard 125 had its heartbeat set by a 124cc four-stroke single-cylinder air-cooled engine that delivered an output power of 9 hp with a peak force at 8,500 rpm and 8 Nm (6 lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm.

The power generated by the engine was converted into motion by a CVT automatic transmission controlled by a dry centrifugal clutch, sending it to the rear end via a final belt drive.
