APRILIA SL 1000 Falco (2000-2001) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2000, the Italian motorcycle maker introduced the Aprilia SL 1000 Falco, a sports motorcycle in its second year of production. It came in the same shape and form as the previous model without any significant modifications.

The Aprilia SL 1000 Falco, also known as the Aprilia SL Mille, was a sports motorcycle manufactured by Aprilia between 1999 and 2005. The bike was powered by a detuned 998cc V-twin Rotax engine derived from the RSV Mille model.

In addition, the SL 1000 Falco was a half-faired motorcycle that competed in the market against the Honda VTR1000 and Suzuki TL1000S. The production ceased in 2003, but sales continued into 2004.

In the aesthetic department, the bike packed standard features, such as a half-fairing, a single headlight unit, a windscreen, a single seat with a passenger seat cover, a dual exhaust system with a silencer on each side, and five-spoke alloy wheels.

As for the power figures, the 2000 Aprilia SL 1000 Falco had its soul brought to life by a 998cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine mounted underneath its fuel tank, boasting 118 hp at 9,250 rpm and 95 Nm (70 lb-ft) torque at 7,000 rpm.

The bike's power was transferred to a six-speed manual transmission that sent it to the rear wheel via a final chain drive, launching the bike to a top speed of 250 kph (156 mph).
