APRILIA RXV 550 (2012-2013) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Aprilia RXV was a line of four-stroke V-twin off-road motorcycles made by Aprilia starting in 2006. The bike was available in 450 and 550cc versions. Alongside the RXV, the maker released the SXV series, a dual-sport supermoto bike also available in two displacements.

In 2012, the Italian bike maker launched the Aprilia RXV 550, an off-road machine and the bigger sister of the 450cc version. It was a powerful enduro machine capable of tackling any track and rough terrain.

The 2012 motorcycle came with the same package as the previous model, featuring the same performance, technical, and visual specifications without modifications. The RXV 550 delivered more power and torque than its smaller sister.

In the visual department, the bike had standard fittings, like wire-spoke wheels with black rims and off-road tires, an engine plate, an under-seat-mounted exhaust system, a single two-tone seat, a small headlight, and a high-mounted front fender.

It was manufactured around a chrome-molybdenum steel perimeter frame with vertical aluminum members that housed the bike's suspension system. It comprised a 45 mm upside-down adjustable telescopic fork on the front and an adjustable shock on the rear, delivering excellent handling capabilities.

As for power, the 2012 Aprilia RXV 550 had its heartbeat set by a 549cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine mounted underneath the fuel tank, boasting 70 hp at 13,000 rpm and 66 Nm (49 lb-ft) torque at 10,900 rpm.
