The Aprilia RSV4 is a super-sports race-grade motorcycle presented by Aprilia as a flagship model since 2009, when it replaced the Aprilia RSV 1000 R, and has continued production until the present (2023).
It was presented on February 22, 2008, at the International Piaggio Group Convention in Milan, Italy, and production started in the same year. Its power came from a 999cc V-4 engine, the first production four-cylinder unit made by Aprilia.
From 2016, the RSV4 range was offered with new designations, RSV4 RR and RSV4 RF. Both machines were developed to take advantage and comply with Superbike rules that allowed fewer modifications for production motorcycles. In addition, the new machines were lighter, more powerful, and had improved handling and electronics.
In 2017, the Italian bike maker released the Aprilia RSV4 RR, a race-grade motorcycle that is over one second faster than the previous model. It packed the same specifications as the last model without any significant modifications.
It came with a standard Aprilia Performance Ride Control (APRC) package that included Aprilia Traction Control (ATC), Aprilia Wheelie Control (AWC), Aprilia Launch Control (ALC), Aprilia Quick Shift (AQS), Aprilia Pit Limiter (APL), and Aprilia Cruise Control (ACC).
Underneath its fuel tank, the 2017 Aprilia RSV4 RR had installed a 999cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-4 engine with a fuel injection system feeding the pistons, delivering 201 hp at 13,000 rpm and 117 Nm (86 lb-ft) torque at 10,500 rpm.
