The Aprilia RSV4 is a super-sports race-grade machine made by Aprilia as a flagship model since 2009, when it replaced the Aprilia RSV 1000 R, and has continued production until the present (2023).
The bike was presented on February 22, 2008, at the International Piaggio Group Convention in Milan, Italy, while the production started in the same year. Its power came from a 999cc V-4 engine, the first production four-cylinder unit made by Aprilia.
In 2016, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Aprilia RSV4 RR, an updated RSV4 model developed to take advantage and comply with Superbike rules that allowed fewer modifications for production motorcycles. In addition, the new machine was lighter, more powerful, and had improved handling and electronics.
The bike had standard features in the aesthetic department, such as a half fairing with a small windscreen, a single seat, a four-into-one exhaust system with a silencer mounted on the right side, and lightweight six-spoke wheels.
Suspension-wise, the bike packed a 43 mm upside-down Sachs telescopic fork with 120 mm of travel guiding the front wheel and a dual-sided aluminum swingarm tied to an adjustable Sachs monoshock with 130 mm of travel on the rear.
As for the power figures, the 2016 Aprilia RSV4 RR had installed a 999cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-4 engine at its core, delivering an output power of 201 hp at 13,000 rpm and 117 Nm (86 lb-ft) torque at 10,500 rpm.
