APRILIA RSV 1000 R (2008-2009) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Aprilia RSV 1000 R was a sports model made by Aprilia between 2004 and 2010 as a successor to the Aprilia RSV Mille made between 1998 and 2003. The RSV 1000 R was manufactured until 2010, when it was replaced by the Aprilia RSV4.

The RSV 1000 R was the basic model of the range, followed by the RSV 1000 R Factory, the higher-spec version, and the RSV 1000 R Nera, which was a limited edition version made in only 200 units, featuring high-end material such as carbon fiber, magnesium, and titanium.

Like previous models, the 2008 RSV 1000 R featured an aggressive design with standard features, like a full fairing with a windscreen, a single seat with a passenger seat cover, a dual exhaust system with a muffler mounted on each side, and forged aluminum wheels with a 10-spoke rear and 12-spoke front.

As for the power, the 2008 Aprilia RSV 1000 R took its muscles from a 998cc four-stroke V-twin liquid-cooled engine mounted underneath its fuel tank, delivering an output power of 143 hp with a peak force at 10,000 rpm and 107 Nm (79 lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm.

The bike's power was kept on the safe side by a pair of 320 mm brake discs with four-piston calipers handling the front wheel and a 220 mm brake disc with a two-piston caliper stopping the rear wheel.
