The Aprilia RSV 1000 R was a sports motorcycle and the standard model in the range. The maker offered two other versions, like the Aprilia RSV 1000 R Factory, the higher-spec version of the range, and the limited edition RSV 1000 R Nera.

In 2008, the Italian motorcycle maker released the Aprilia RSV 1000 R Factory, a sports motorcycle in its fourth year of production, featuring the same package as previous models without any significant modifications whatsoever.

It had aggressive styling and standard features, such as full fairing with dual headlights and a medium-sized windscreen, a single seat, a two-into-one exhaust system with an up-swept silencer on each side, a ten-spoke rear wheel, a 12-spoke front wheel.

The bike debuted in 2004, and, compared to the base model, it featured race-grade fully adjustable Ohlins suspensions, an adjustable Ohlins steering damper, blue anodized forged aluminum wheels, carbon fiber elements, and a black or gold-finished frame.

The 2008 Aprilia RSV 1000 R Factory had its soul brought to life by a 998cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine with a fuel injection system feeding the pistons, delivering 139 hp at 9,500 rpm and 107 Nm (79 lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm.

As for stopping power, the bike's wheels were fitted with two 320 mm brake discs married to four-piston radial Brembo calipers on the front and a 220 mm brake disc tied to a dual-piston radial Brembo caliper.
