APRILIA RSV 1000 R Factory (2005-2006) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2005, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Aprilia RSV 1000 R Factory, the higher specifications version of the range. It was in its second year of production and featured the same package as the previous model without any modifications.

The bike debuted in 2004 as a replacement model for the Aprilia RSV Mille produced between 1998 and 2003 and continued production until 2010 when it was succeeded by the Aprilia RSV4. In addition, the bike was offered in standard RSV 1000 R, RSV 1000 R Factory, and limited edition RSV 1000 R Nera.

It packed the same standard features as the previous model, like a black or gold-finished frame, blue anodized forged aluminum wheels, carbon fiber components, and a fully adjustable Ohlins rear monoshock and adjustable Ohlins steering damper.

The braking performance was achieved by two 320 mm brake discs with four-piston Brembo radial calipers and a 220 mm brake disc with a dual-piston Brembo radial caliper, delivering excellent stopping power.

As for power and torque, the 2005 Aprilia RSV 1000 R Factory had installed a 998cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine underneath its clothes, boasting 139 hp with maximum strength at 9,500 rpm and 107 Nm (79 lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm.

The engine was married to a six-speed transmission and controlled by a wet multi-plate clutch. It took the power and sent it to the rear end via a final chain drive, making the bike hit a top speed of 278 kph (173 mph).
