APRILIA RSV Mille R (2000-2001) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2000, alongside the base model, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Aprilia RSV Mille R, a lighter but higher-spec version of the standard model. It packed the same specifications as the previous model without any changes.

Compared to the standard model, the Aprilia RSV Mille R was lighter and featured several high-spec elements, such as Ohlins Suspensions both front and rear, an Ohlins steering damper, a carbon fiber front fender, forged aluminum wheels, and a shorter subframe that provided a single seat.

Aesthetically, the bike was fitted with standard features, such as a full fairing with a windscreen, a single seat, 12-spoke forged aluminum wheels, and a two-into-one exhaust system with an up-swept silencer mounted on the right side.

The bike's suspension system comprised a 43 mm inverted Ohlins telescopic fork on the front with 120 mm of travel and an aluminum alloy swingarm coupled to an adjustable Ohlins shock on the rear with 135 mm wheel travel.

As for the power figures, the 2000 Aprilia RSV Mille R took its muscles from a 998cc four-stroke V-twin liquid-cooled engine mounted underneath its clothes, delivering an output power of 133 hp at 9,500 rpm and 106 Nm (72lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm.

The power was converted into motion by a six-speed manual gearbox linked to the rear wheel via a final chain drive, pushing the bike to a top speed of 274 kph (170 mph).
