APRILIA RSV Mille R (1999-2000) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Aprilia RSV Mille was a sports bike produced by Aprilia from 1998 until 2003 when it was replaced by the Aprilia RSV1000R. The motorcycle was available in three versions: The RSV Mille, RSV Mille R, and RSV Mille SP.

In 1999, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Aprilia RSV Mille R, a lighter but higher specification version of the base model. The bike was fitted with Ohlins suspensions, an Ohlins steering damper, forged aluminum wheels, a carbon fiber front fender, and a shorter subframe that provided a single seat.

Aesthetically, the bike was fitted with standard features, such as a full fairing, a windscreen, a single seat, a two-into-one exhaust system with an up-swept silencer mounted on the right side, and 12-spoke forged aluminum wheels.

In the suspension department, the bike packed a 43 mm upside-down Ohlins telescopic fork on the front and an adjustable Ohlins shock absorber on the rear, delivering excellent suspension performance and handling capabilities.

The bike rolled on 17-inch forged aluminum wheels fitted with two 320 mm discs on the front and a 220 mm brake disc on the rear. The front wheel was coupled to four-piston calipers, while the rear one was tied to a dual-piston caliper.

In the performance department, the 1999 Aprilia RSV Mille R had installed a 998cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin powerhouse hidden underneath the fairing, boasting 130 hp at 9,500 rpm and 100 Nm (74 lb-ft) torque at 7,500 rpm.
