APRILIA RSV Mille (1997-1998) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Aprilia RSV Mille was a sports motorcycle manufactured by Aprilia from 1998 until 2003 when it was replaced by the Aprilia RSV1000R. The bike was available in three versions: The RSV Mille, RSV Mille R, and RSV Mille SP.

The first motorcycle was made from 1998 to 2000; an updated version was produced from 2001 to 2002; the last updated model was created in 2003. Packing a 998cc V-twin engine made by Rotax, the RSV Mille was the company's first large displacement machine.

The first revision came in 2001, with a revised fairing packing wind deflectors to improve airflow, a smaller plastic fuel tank, and a revised rear shock absorber on both the base and R versions.

The second revision occurred in 2002, receiving Brembo monobloc calipers that provided better braking performance. In 2003, the bike featured changed gear ratios, a different exhaust system, and a redesigned front fender and tailpiece.

In 1998, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer released the Aprilia RSV Mille, a sports motorcycle in its first year of production that was created as a rival to big names like Ducati. In addition, the Mille designation meant "1,000" in Italian.

As for the power, the 1998 Aprilia RSV Mille had its soul brought to life by a 998cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine with two carburetors, boasting 127 hp with maximum strength at 9,300 rpm and 103 Nm (76 lb-ft) torque at 7,000 rpm.
