APRILIA 125 Red Rose (1989-1990) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Aprilia Red Rose and Aprilia Classic were two motorcycles manufactured by Aprilia between 1988 and 2002. The Aprilia Red Rose was the first series, and the Aprilia Classic was the second series released in 1992.

In 1987, the Italian motorcycle maker presented the Aprilia 125 Red Rose at the Milan show. The bike was available in 50 and 125cc versions, and not only different in displacement but also in colors.

The Aprilia Red Rose, part of the first series, was powered by a single-cylinder liquid-cooled Rotax engine for both displacements. It was a custom or street motorcycle similar to other models, such as the Moto Guzzi Custom 125, Gilera Eaglet, Yamaha Virago 125, and Cagiva Roadster.

Compared to the second series, the Aprilia Red Rose featured a rear suspension system comprised of two side-mounted shocks, a more slender front fender, a padded and stitched seat, double instruments, and a pulled-back handlebar.

As for colors, the 50cc version came with a sober paint job based on blue and red, featuring a tiny rose on the side of the fuel tank. The 125cc model featured a showy color, such as a metallic water green and a light metallic gray base.

As for the power figures, the Aprilia 125 Red Rose had its soul brought to life by a 124cc two-stroke single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that delivered an output power of 27 hp at 10,250 and 23 Nm (17 lb-ft) torque at 8,000 rpm.
