The Aprilia MX was a bike part of the motard category with visual similarities to enduro bikes but with wheels and a braking system adapted for road use. The MX series was manufactured from 2004 until 2006, when it was replaced by the Aprilia SX 50 in 2006 and SX 125 in 2007.

The line comprised the Aprilia MX 50 moped and the larger Aprilia MX 125. The MX 125 was manufactured from 2004 to 2006 and was based on the Aprilia RX 125, manufactured between 1983 and 2002.

The Aprilia MX 125 was not only the sister model of the RX 125 but also a continuation model that retained almost everything from its predecessor except for an improved braking system, smaller wheels, and smooth road tires.

In 2004, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Aprilia MX 125, a small displacement entry-level motorcycle suitable for the least experienced ones. Although the bike looked like an enduro model, it was designed for on-road use.

The bike had standard features in the visual department, such as a high-mounted front fender, a small cowl with a square headlight, a one-piece dual seat, an under-seat-mounted exhaust system, a dual-sided swingarm, and wire-spoke wheels.

As for the power figures, the 2004 Aprilia MX 125 had its soul brought to life by a 124cc two-stroke single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that delivered an output power of 33 hp and 23 Nm (17 lb-ft) torque.
