APRILIA Dorsoduro 750 (2008-2009) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Aprilia Dorsoduro was a line of V-twin powered motorcycles part of the supermotard class produced by Aprilia since 2008. The range comprised three models: the standard 750cc model, the later 1200cc version, and the final 900cc model.

All the models in the range appeared similar but with few common parts. In addition, the bikes were named after the Dorsoduro region of Venice, whose name translates to hard ridge.

The first one in the series was the Dorsoduro 750, which was presented at the EICMA Show in Milan as the SMV 750 Dorsoduro. It was based on the Shiver 750, sharing the same engine and frame but had a different suspension tuning.

The bike was released into the market in 2008 as a first foray into the maxi-moto class. Unlike Aprilia's supermoto designs, the Dorsoduro had features common to touring and standard motorcycles, like optional ABS and adjustable throttle mapping.

In the power department, the 2008 Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 had installed a 749cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine that delivered an output power of 92 hp at 8,750 rpm and 81 Nm (60 lb-ft) torque at 4,500 rpm.

In the aesthetic department, the motorcycle packed standard features, such as a small front cowl with a single headlight unit, a high-mounted front fender, a one-piece dual seat, an under-seat-mounted exhaust system, and 12-spoke alloy wheels.
