APRILIA Classic 125 (1999-2000) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 1996, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Aprilia Classic 125, a classic-inspired, entry-level machine suitable for riders of all ages who prefer an American cruiser look on their machines.

The 1996 Aprilia Classic 125 model came in the same package as the previous model, featuring the exact technical, visual, and performance specifications without any modifications whatsoever.

The motorcycle came equipped with standard features, such as a round headlight upfront, a 33-degree raked front fork, a dual seat, an engine cover, dual side-mounted shock absorbers on the rear, a single exhaust system, and wire-spoke wheels.

In the performance department, the 1996 Aprilia Classic 125 had installed a 124cc two-stroke liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine underneath its teardrop-shaped fuel tank, boasting 15 hp with a peak force at 6,600 rpm and 14 Nm (10 lb-ft) torque at 6,500 rpm.

The bike's engine was paired to a six-speed transmission with a wet multi-disc manual clutch that redirected the power produced by the engine to the rear wheel via a final chain drive, launching the motorcycle to a maximum speed of 114 kph (71 mph).

As for the braking performance, the bike's wire-spoke wheels were fitted with a 230 mm disc on the front tied to a dual-piston caliper and a 160 mm drum braking unit on the rear, offering optimum stopping performance.

Suspension-wise, the motorcycle was softened by a 33-degree rake telescopic fork on the front that offered 120 mm wheel travel and two hydraulic shock absorbers on the rear with 70 mm of travel.
