APRILIA Classic 125 (1997-1998) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Aprilia Red Rose and Aprilia Classic 125 were two motorcycles produced by Aprilia between 1988 and 2002. The Aprilia Red Rose was the first model in the series, released in 1988, while the Aprilia Classic was in the second series made in 1992.

The Aprilia Red Rose was first to appear, presented at the 1987 Milan Show, and launched in 1988. The bike was available in 50cc and 125cc versions. In addition to the displacement differences, the motorcycle also differed in colors.

The Aprilia Classic 125 was presented at the 1991 EICMA Show and was part of the second series. Compared to the Red Rose model, the Classic 125 had a lower and more modern package and a very low tapered-style exhaust system, just like the ones on Harley-Davidson models.

In 1994, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Aprilia Classic 125, a classic-styled cruiser motorcycle in its third year of production. Like the previous model, the 1994 motorcycle packed the exact technical, visual, and performance specifications without changes.

As for power, the 1994 Aprilia Classic 125 had its heartbeat set by a 124cc two-stroke liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine mounted underneath its teardrop-shaped fuel tank, delivering an output power of 15 hp at 6,600 rpm and 14 Nm (10 lb-ft) torque at 6,500 rpm.

All the power was converted into motion by a six-speed manual transmission, sending it to the rear end via a final chain drive, pushing the motorcycle to 114 kph (71 mph).
