APRILIA Classic 125 (1996-1997) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 1993, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Aprilia Classic 125, an American-style cruiser motorcycle in its second year of production that featured the same technical, visual, and performance specifications as the previous model.

The first series debuted in 1988 with the Aprilia Red Rose model presented at the 1987 Milan Show. The bike was available in 50cc and 125cc versions and featured different colors. In addition, the Red Rose was equipped with a single-cylinder liquid-cooled Rotax engine for both displacements.

The 1993 Classic version was fitted with standard features, such as a round headlight upfront, a 33-degree raked front fork, a dual seat, an engine cover, dual side-mounted shock absorbers on the rear, a single exhaust system, and wire-spoke wheels.

Suspension-wise, the bike’s riding experience was softened by a 33-degree rake telescopic fork on the front that offered 120 mm wheel travel and two hydraulic shock absorbers on the rear with 70 mm of travel.

As for the braking power, the bike packed a 230 mm disc on the front tied to a dual-piston caliper and a 160 mm drum braking unit on the rear, offering optimum stopping performance.

In the power department, the 1993 Aprilia Classic 125 had its soul brought to life by a 124cc two-stroke liquid-cooled engine mounted underneath its teardrop-shaped fuel tank, boasting 15 hp with maximum strength at 6,600 rpm and 14 Nm (10 lb-ft) torque at 6,500 rpm.
