APRILIA Caponord 1200 ABS (2013-2014) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2013, alongside the base model, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Aprilia Caponord 1200 ABS, a versatile adventure machine that perfectly balanced safety, top-end performance, and comfort in a good-looking package.

In addition, the bike was fitted with a ride-by-wire system that was first introduced on an Aprilia motorcycle in 2007 and peaked on the 2013 Caponord model. The system helped riders to get the most out of their bike.

Another system present on the 2013 ABS model was the Aprilia Traction Control (ATC), derived from the high-performance Aprilia Performance Ride Control (APRC) package of the Impressive RSV4 model. The system offered maximum grip in any condition and on any surface.

Visually, the bike was similar to the non-ABS model, packing standard features, such as a half fairing with three headlights, a medium-sized windscreen, a two-piece dual seat, side-mounted panniers, a single exhaust system mounted on the right side, and six-spoke alloy wheels.

The bike was produced around a modular tubular steel frame that houses the bike's suspension system comprised of a 43 mm fully adjustable upside-down telescopic fork with 167 mm of travel on the front and an adjustable Sachs shock absorber on the rear with 150 mm of travel.

As for the power figures, the 2013 Aprilia Caponord 1200 ABS had its soul brought to life by a 1,197cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine mounted underneath its fuel tank, delivering 125 hp at 8,250 rpm and 115 Nm (85 lb-ft) torque at 6,800 rpm.
