APRILIA Dorsoduro 750 ABS (2012-2013) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2012, alongside the standard model, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer launched the Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 ABS, which, as its name suggests, packed additional safety equipment in the form of an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) that offered more controllability.

The Dorsoduro 750 was the first to appear on the market. It was presented at the 2007 EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan and was based on the successful Aprilia Shiver 750. It retained the same engine and frame but had a different suspension tuning.

The 2012 ABS version came with the same package as the base 2012 model, offering the same visual, technical, and performance specifications without any significant modifications whatsoever.

The motorcycle glided on 12-spoke front and 10-spoke rear alloy wheels and was fitted with standard features, such as a high-mounted front fender, a single seat, an off-set rear shock absorber, and a dual exhaust system with two mufflers mounted under the seat.

The braking system was handled by Brembo and comprised two 320 mm stainless steel floating wave discs on the front and a 240 mm stainless steel wave disc on the rear. The front was handled by four-piston calipers, and the rear one by a single-piston caliper.

Underneath its fuel tank, the 2012 Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 ABS had installed a 749cc four-stroke V-twin liquid-cooled powerplant that delivered an output power of 92 hp at 8,750 rpm and 81 Nm (60 lb-ft) torque at 4,500 rpm.
