APRILIA Atlantic 500 Sprint (2006-2007) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2006, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer released the Aprilia Atlantic Sprint 500, a maxi-scooter part of Aprilia's range. The scooter debuted in 2005 as the second generation of the previous Atlantic 500 and was similar in design to the previous one.

The 2006 model had a maximum length of 2,200 mm (87 inches), 815 mm wide (32 inches), 1,370 mm height (54 inches), 780 mm seat height (31 inches), and its weight was reduced to 199 kg (439 lbs). It also had a 15-liter fuel tank with a 2-liter reserve.

Like the previous one, it packed standard features, such as full bodywork, a large headlight, a tall windscreen, a comfortable two-up seat with lumbar support for both rider and passenger, and five-spoke aluminum wheels.

Power-wise, the 2006 Aprilia Atlantic Sprint 500 was set in motion by a 460cc four-stroke liquid-cooled one-cylinder engine, controlled by an Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system, delivering 37 hp at 6,750 rpm and 42 Nm (31 lb-ft) torque at 5,500 rpm.

The riding was softened by a 35 mm hydraulic telescopic fork on the front with 105 mm of travel and two five-position spring preload-adjustable shock absorbers on the rear with 90 mm of travel.

As for the braking power, its wheels were fitted with two 260 mm brake rotors on the front and three-piston calipers, and a 220 mm brake disc with a dual-piston caliper, acting as braking performance.
