APRILIA Atlantic 500 Sprint (2005-2006) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Aprilia Atlantic was a mid-to-high-end scooter made by Aprilia from late 2001 until 2014. Some similar models from other manufacturers included the Yamaha XMAX, Suzuki Burgman, Piaggio X9, and Piaggio X10.

The scooter was developed by Aprilia and Marabese Design and was introduced in late 2001 in the 500cc version. It was Aprilia's maxi scooter and the top model for performance and comfort.

In 2005, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer released the Aprilia Atlantic 500 Sprint, a new model that replaced the previous one. It was presented in February 2005 and was based on the same frame as the smaller 125 and 200cc versions.

The scooter was similar to the previous one, packing standard features, such as full bodywork, a large headlight, a tall windscreen, a comfortable two-up seat with lumbar support for both rider and passenger, and five-spoke aluminum wheels.

It had a maximum length of 2,200 mm (87 inches), 815 mm wide (32 inches), 1,370 mm height (54 inches), 780 mm seat height (31 inches), and its weight was reduced to 199 kg (439 lbs). It also had a 15-liter fuel tank with a 2-liter reserve.

Underneath its full bodywork, the 2005 Aprilia Atlantic 500 Sprint had installed a 460cc four-stroke liquid-cooled one-cylinder engine, delivering 37 hp at 6,750 rpm and 42 Nm (31 lb-ft) torque at 5,500 rpm.
