APRILIA Atlantic 125 (2002-2003) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Aprilia Atlantic was a mid-to-high-end low-wheel scooter manufactured by Aprilia from late 2001 and continued production until 2014. Some similar models from other manufacturers included the Yamaha XMAX, Suzuki Burgman, Piaggio X9, and Piaggio X10.

In September 2002, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer introduced the Aprilia Atlantic 125 and 200, powered by the Piaggio Leader engine. Both engines were single-cylinder liquid-cooled and delivered 15 hp (the 125cc) and 21 hp (the 200cc).

Regarding power, the 2002 Aprilia Atlantic had its soul brought to life by a 124cc four-stroke liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that delivered an output power of 12 hp. The rear wheel was set in motion by a CVT transmission with a dry automatic clutch and a final belt drive.

Although the general style was maintained, the smaller-displacement models differed in size and price and visually, with a redesigned headlight and taillight. The production of the 200cc version ended in 2004.

The visual department was characterized by standard fittings, like a dual headlight system, a windscreen, a one-piece dual seat, a luggage rack, a side stand, and five-spoke aluminum wheels.

As for the stopping power, the scooter had a single disc mounted on the front wheel and a single disc mounted on the rear wheel, offering optimum braking power.

The suspension comprised a 35 mm telescopic fork on the front and an adjustable shock absorber on the rear, offering optimum handling capabilities.
