Approximately one year after its unveil, the Mercedes-Benz Citan urban delivery van has received two new engines, both being the most powerful in the diesel and gasoline range, respectively.
The most powerful diesel in the current range will now be represented by the Citan 111 CDI model. Powered by a Renault-sourced 1.5-liter diesel with 110 hp and 240 Nm (177 lb ft) of torque, the new model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 12.3 seconds and can hit a top speed of 170 km/h (106 mph).

Those figures aren't exactly in supercar territory, but when combining that info with the fact that this is a truly utilitarian vehicle that only consumes 4.4 liters/100km (53 mpg) with the BlueEfficiency package, they kind of start to sound pretty good.

The highest output of the Citan model range will be taken care of by the engine with the smallest displacement in the new Citan 112. Powered by another Renault-sourced 1.2-liter, only this time running on gasoline, the Citan 112 offers 112 hp and 190 Nm (85 lb ft) of torque.

This translates into a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) time of 11.7 seconds and a top speed of 173 km/h, while the medium fuel consumption sits at 6.1-liters (39 mpg).
