The Mercedes-Benz marketing machine seems to be malfunctioning quite often this year, after the all-new S 65 AMG uber-sedan was cauught completely undisguised during a manufacturer filming session in the Netherlands. A non-planned reveal of its S 63 AMG brother had also taken place a few months ago, when the model was unintentionally featured in a short movie about how the W222 S-Class is built.
The completely uncovered most powerful series-production Mercedes-Benz S-Class in history was being filmed by a blacked-out ML 55 AMG (W163) camera car in the middle of Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
Naturally, the whole shenanigans were drawing a lot of attention on the Dutch city's streets, especially since the area it was filmed in didn't have any roads closed for the shoot, as these big-budget commercial-type movies usually do.
By coincidence, YouTube supercar-spotter Gnepiah was in the area with a HD cam and captured the whole thing. After not being able to close the roads for the shooting, the Mercedes-Benz guys also failed monumentally at reacting properly to the problem, some of their humorous non-subtle attempts at covering the car's details from view being completely inept.
According to Gnepiah, there were also five people connected to the shot which tried to force him to erase the footage, but, considering he was filming on a public street, the Mercedes-Benz peeps were obviously unsucessful.
The W222 Mercedes-Benz S 65 AMG will now probably be unveiled via a quickly-edited press release in the following days, with the actual production version to be launched either at the upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show or at the originally-planed Los Angeles Auto Show.
