Slef-proclaimed "automotive manipulator" Theophilus Chin is sometimes having too much time on his hands. So much time that he squeezes the following type of renderings as if it was his actual job, and we mean that as a compliment.
With the R-Class out of the Mercedes-Benz picture and the new V-Class not yet on the market, Teophilus thought that an estate version of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class might not be such a bad idea, so he created a small virtual niche that may be called “luxury station wagon”.
Made by fitting together the roof of the CLS Shooting brake with the body of the W222 generation of the S-Class, the above rendering doesn't look half bad, with the lines of the two types of Mercedes-Benzes blending in rather nicely.
Now, since the Viano-replacement is actually coming to fill the R-Class' disappearance and the CLS Shooting Brake is too close in size and design language with Theophilus Chin's rendering, an S-Class Shooting Brake would not make a lot of sense. An S-Class Coupe Shooting Brake, on the other hand...
