When Mercedes-Benz announced the specs for their smallest AMG in history there were suddenly a lot of voices being silenced.
With just four cylinders, two liters and a turbocharger to play with, AMG engineers weren't exactly expected to deliver such a party-sized monster.

As most of you know, the A 45 AMG's M133 engine offers no less than 360 hp (355 bhp) and 450 Nm (332 lb ft) of torque, enough to propel the car from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.6 seconds.

The peeps from RENNtech thought they could up the ante on it though, and the results of their M133 Stage 1 tuning are impressive to say the least.

After a bit of meddling through the car's original ECU, the RENNtech A 45 AMG delivers no less than 414 hp and 533 Nm (393 lb ft) of torque, enough to make the bonkers AMG reach 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standing start in four seconds flat. We are now dying to see what the Stage 2 and 3 will bring to the table.
