There have been numerous spyshots of pre-production prototypes for the upcoming third generation of the smart fortwo in recent months, so speculated details about the car have started to emerge as well.
The Germans form Auto Bild have the latest scoop on the next iteration of the tiny city coupe, with most of their insider info being in tune with what we were speculating as well, such as the car having an increased width.
Apparently, the upcoming model will measure the same as the current one, at about 2.70 meters (106.3 inches) in length, but its width will increase by around 10 centimeters, with the wheelbase expected to be more stretched as well.
Auto Bild reports something a bit more interesting though, as they mention that the turning radius will be dramatically better. By “dramatically” we're talking about 7.50 meters (295 inches), which would be 1.25 meters (49 inches) lower than on the current model, or in other words a world record. Expect more info about the model to appear in the following months.
