After many years of manufacturing the Lada 110, the Russian car company AvtoVaz launched in 2007 a new, restyled, version named Priora. It was based on the same platform as the Lada 110, but with major improvements for the engine, bodywork and comfort.

It was a very important step forward for the Tolyatti-based car manufacturer. It has ABS, ESP and automatic climate control, on top of the central locking, power windows and locks, heated front seats and cruise control. For very cold-weather areas, an auxiliary heating unit was offered as an option. The comfort inside the cabin was updated with the addition of the climate control unit. The driver had an on-board computer with a display installed between the tachometer and the speedometer in the dashboard. An infotainment unit with BT connectivity and touch-screen was available in upper trim levels.

For the engine department, Lada installed three engine variants of the same 1.6-liter gasoline unit with 87 hp, 97 hp or 106 hp, respectively. Standard transmission was a 5-speed manual, but as an option, an automatic gearbox with sequential shifting was available, but only for the 106 hp engine.

The performance was modest, but enough for what you'd pay: 186 kph (115 mph) top speed and a 0 to 100 kph (0-62 mph) sprint in 10.5 seconds.
