Auto Show. It was based on the concept-car Cadillac Converj and, underneath the luxury coupe, was the Chevrolet Volt platform. It was built in less than 3000 units between the late 2013 and spring of 2016.

On the outside, the ELR looked like it will rule the roads. The new design language from Cadillac was good. The aggressive lines and sharp edges were completing the luxury mid-size coupe. The 20” light-alloy wheels placed as far as the platform allowed accentuated the sporty look of the vehicle. At a glance, the car had the door handles hidden behind the door panel. A nice trick to lower the drag coefficient to a respectable 0.30 value.

Inside, the ELR had a very nice and well-equipped interior. The leather upholstery was standard for this exquisite Cadillac. The front seats were separated by a large center console, where the gear lever was placed. On the dashboard, an 8” touch-screen was installed for the CUE infotainment system.

The seating arrangement was a 2+2, but it didn't look like the seats in the rear were large enough. But they could fold and extend the trunk.

The powertrain was borrowed from the Chevrolet Volt, but it received a small upgrade in 2015 for the 2016 model. But it didn't get enough attention and the ELR was axed. It was more expensive than the 8-seater Cadillac Escalade from that time.
