It is unusual to see a station wagon running on a racetrack, but Mercedes-AMG is just the kind of carmaker with which you will start searching the tracks around you. It's not the 0 to 100 kph (0-62 mph) sprint in 4.5 seconds that will blow your mind, but the lap times. There, you can benefit from the virtual driving instructor included into the new MBUX infotainment system, which will guide you around showing the ideal racing lines, braking points, acceleration moments and G-lateral information.

The exterior look has been slightly modified. Two powerdomes have appeared on the hood, suggesting that there is a V6 underneath, but it is actually not. It is the same inline-six with a big turbocharger, a smaller electric compressor and a starter-generator based on a 48v architecture to achieve a total of 435 hp and 520 Nm (383.5 lb-ft) of torque, plus a temporary extra 22 hp and 250 Nm of torque from the starter-generator motor.

The front bumper has been slightly redesigned with an A-wing design and five vertical struts in the center section. Above it, the flat LED headlamps guard the central AMG specific black grille. With a new optional pack called Night Package, this can be darkened and increases the aggressive look of the station wagon. Sounds crazy, but this is how any sleeper-car should look like.

And, if you need more speed for the race track, there is also a Driver Package, which will allow a top speed of 270 kph (167mph) instead of the standard 250 kph (155mph).
