The United Kingdom government’s subsidized fundings to encourage electric/hybrid vehicles has made possible the joint project between Toyota and British Gas that offers Prius Plug-in future owners a free home charging point.
The charging package worth of £1,333 includes a 16-amp data-enabled charging point with a connector suitable for the Prius, which is connected to a dedicated circuit, not to interfere or overcharge to house one. There is also a paid option to mount a 32-amp instead of the 16 one.
Also, the charge point is data enabled, so it requires a suitable 02 data connection to make the best out of it. Even more, anyone benefiting from this offer will have free access to the POLAR national network of public charging and rapid charging points until the end of March 2014.
