The famous Asian electronics maker Samsung was recently dethroned from its number one position as Asia’s biggest company by market value as Toyota registered a boom in its sales recently.
Reports show that the automaker’s market capitalisation stood at 22.23 trillion yen ($217 billion) today (May 16th), totally outrunning the electronics giant Samsung that marketed only 20.32 trillion yen.

This battle goes back and forth for quite some time, as in 2011, Samsung overtook Toyota and also won the battle with its US competitor Apple.

Toyota, which is also the world’s biggest automaker now, has shifted production into high gear, launching the new 2013 model lineup, including the upgraded flagship Avalon full sedan, sturdy 4Runner SUV and the cheap and honest Corolla.
