Thanks to its 37 miles per gallon range, the Scion iQ was placed above vehicles such as the Chevrolet Spark, Fiat 500, the Smart ForTwo and Volkswagen’s entire TDI lineup.
“Smart might have kicked off the micro car craze in North America, but it’s Scion that’s taking top honors here [...] Scion’s little city car has its share of quirks, but it drives surprisingly well for such a small car and it won’t sting you to go from empty to full,” our source described the little iQ.
Introduced as a concept car at the 2009 New York Auto Show, the Scion iQ made its production debut a year later. The recent Kelley Blue Book 5-Year Cost to Own Award winner is equipped with a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engines that delivers 94 hp and 89 lb-ft of torque with the help of its CVT. Rated as an Ultra Low Emission Vehicle, the Scion iQ returns an EPA-estimated combined fuel economy rating of 37 miles per gallon.
