Lexus is currently working on a new compact crossover to fill the unexplored niche segment under its RX model.
Rumors that the upcoming NX compact crossover will be based on the Toyota RAV4 were a bit wrong, as the recently received spyshots reveal a CT 200h mule, fully wrapped in camouflage hinting at the upcoming crossover.
While underneath the camo lies the CT body panels, the production Lexus NX will bear a fresh spindle design and until now we know about two models being trademarked for the US: the NX 200t and the NX 300h, with the first one probably being powered by a small turbo engine, while the latter will have the 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle hybrid juicing up from a nickel-metal battery like the ES 300h.
