I'm a firm believer that the main idea behind every beautiful car out there is to attract people in buying it. I think I learned that at a marketing class in college. That or watching Oprah, I can't really remember which.
Anyway, I'm just saying this because I pretty much fell in love with how the new Volvo S60 looks, and I was looking for a logical explanation for it. Normally, I didn't actually like most Volvos. I mean, most of them made me feel really old for just driving them. I think no car out there should make you feel old, but sadly this was the case with all those Swedish beige bricks on wheels from the 1990s.
Looking at the curves on the new S60, you can pretty much see that "old" is a word that doesn't exist in Volvo's improved dictionary. If it had also had a panoramic sunroof or something, this would have been my new favorite Volvo, actually.
It's not just the exterior design, albeit it plays a major part in my infatuation with it, but it's also the interior, the safety features and the way the car actually drives. Whether you like driving like a road racer or like an uptight 70-year old, the new S60 can do it all.
That's actually the second thing I like about it. The way it encompasses so many different behaviors, managing to be both comfortable and sporty, elegant but also a bit crazy, cozy but spacious. It just might be the best Volvo ever!
Yeah, I also heard about that Chinese take over, but, honestly, it doesn't bother me as much. As long as they can still deliver cars as beautiful as this one, pumpkin-headed aliens from Zeta Reticuli can take over their company, I really don't care.
