Take It or Leave It
In the automotive world, there are no such things as wonders, so you can’t buy a premium car and spend entry-level money, but you can look for smart proposals such as the Passat CC, which manages to mix a multitude of assets into its sleek body.
We recommend you to keep a medium profile when configuring a car, because gifting it with muscular engines and high-end features would only take it into a league where players with bigger names lie.
Our test car used a middle of the range spec, just a few optional extras and was gifted with the most frugal diesel, the 140 hp and it was great to see how much elegance, comfort and efficiency VW could pack in EUR33,000 (USD40,700 at the current exchange rate).

The vehicle is perfectly suitable for the daily urban rush and it will take you to another city across the country in a relaxed manner, so it’s not just a pretty face. The CC is definetly worth the extra money over the Passat
, that's for sure.
This might seem redundant, but we have to tell you that if you’re looking for driving dynamics, you haven’t come to the right place. Don’t get us wrong, the CC is a fair car that responds well to the driver’s inputs, but it just won’t generate any pleasure.
And throwing more HP, electronic LSDs or other hardware on it won’t help the experience all that much, it will only make it faster. Also, fitting it with out-of-this-world optional goodies will bump its price to a level where you want to scream the names of other German brands.
The CC is a gentleman and, you know that “a gentlemen will walk but never run”, so if use the car according to this you’ll be pleased on many levels. The CC is a car that can easily ask most of its competitors “why so serious?” at any given time and after it gets tires of laughing of their... serious appearances, it can show them its tech specs and make them put on an even more serious face.Continue reading
