I must say that I had never heard of this car brand until I arrived in the States after that two week illegal boat ride. And I consider myself a real car connoisur, or whatever you spell it. Seems like they were initially made by Nissan only for Americans, and only last year they decided to ship them into Europe as well.
Hmmm, not to be picky or anything, but at first I must admit that I didn't actually think very highly of Infiniti as a brand. I was saying to myself "Why would someone spend almost twice
the amount of money for an upmarket Nissan with a different badge?" So I saw them like sheep in wolves clothing. Until I drove this G37 Sedan, that is.
No, I lie. Until I knocked a bit on the hood
, actually. Yeah, you remember my trademarked way of learning everything about a car's technical stuff, right? Giving them a few knocks has never failed me. So I did the same with this one and... surprise! It's not your average european econobox Nissan under the skin. It's actually the mighty 370Z!
So, a sedan using a sports coupe platform. Pretty neat! Also, after driving it, I can also say that it's almost (emphasizing the word "almost") in BMW's ballpark as far as handling and performance. Well this should teach me never to judge a book by its corner ever again. Or was it its cover?
Anyway, I kinda like it, I don't wanna lie. It looks good, goes like stink and is has some very cool features, like that self-healing paint and the radar thingamajig that makes you use that star Trek tractor beam on the highway. A car in which you can stalk people more effectively. Very nice!
