In preparation for the 2010 season, Penske Racing announced yesterday the appointment of Steve Addington as Kurt Busch’s No 2 Miller Lite Dodge crew chief, replacing Pat Tryson, who will be employed by Michael Waltrip Racing from the next season onwards. According to Penske, Addington's appointment was decided upon based on his results in the past years, despite the fact that the team would have preferred to promote someone from within its ranks. Addington was until now working for Joe Gibbs Racing where, coincidental or not, he was the crew chief of the No 18 Toyota driven by Kurt's younger brother, Kyle.
