The team moves to England to take on another big challenge: competing in the British F3 Championship. The début season was very helpful for Piquet Sports to get used to European racing. One year later, the team would pick up in style.
Truly a remarkable season for Piquet Sports. Nelson Piquet Jr. clinches the British title in F3 Championship, while Alexandre Negrão becomes new South American champion in F3 also. The team manages a total of 12 wins, 24 podiums and 13 pole-positions in only 2 British F3 seasons. It was the right time to step up to a bigger challenge: the GP2 Series.
Hi Tech/Piquet Sports is created especially for GP2 Series racing. The team has a pretty promising start in the championship, taking one win and 4 podiums en route to a 6th place in overall teams' standings (début season). Nelson Piquet Jr. ranks 8th in the championship, while fellow Brazilian Alexandre Negrão barely makes the Top 20 (19th overall, with only 4 points).

Nelson Piquet Jr and Piquet Sports finish the season runner-ups in the championship. Alexandre Negrão betters his previous performance and ranks 13th in the season, scoring a total of 13 points. At the end of the season, Nelson Piquet signs a deal with Renault F1 team for a testing job.
Minardi Piquet Sports finishes 11th overall in the teams' standings, with both Roldan Rodriguez and Alexandre Negrao outside the Top 10 at the end of the season (17th and 20th respectively).
The team brings in some newcomers for the inaugural GP2 Asia Series, Marcelo Puglisi and Marco Bonanomi. Only the latter gets to score points in the overall classification (9) finishing the season in 12th place. The team upper their game in the Main Series, putting both drivers - Pastor Maldonado and Andreas Zuber - inside the overall Top 10.
