Scheider Wins at Barcelona, Makes Huge Step to 2nd DTM Title

Timo Scheider can now focus on his second consecutive DTM title, as the German driver won a comfortable race at Barcelona over the weekend to further increase his lead in the overall classification. Only a miracle would prevent Scheider from succeeding in his perfect title defense this year, as the Lahnstein-born driver is now 12 points ahead of nearest rival and Audi teammate Mattias Ekstrom with only 2 rounds to go. The Audi driver made a champion-like effort at the start of the race and jumped from 5th place on the grid all the way into 1st place, using the outside line on Turn 1 to pass all those in front of him.
