Zero Motorcycles Upgrades the 2014 Line-Up, Ditches the MX

It looks like Zero's electric MX bike did not make it to live another season, as the manufacturer does not mention it among the 2014 bikes.

Zero Motorcycles will be offering only 4 machines for 2014: the S, DS, FX and the sportier streetfighter SR.

According to Dealernews, Zero's change of focus allowed them to drop the bikes' prices by around $1,000 (€775). At the same time, the power packs now come with a 5-year warranty, a move which aims to level the offer Brammo announced earlier.

All the 2014 models come with revised suspensions, including larger, 43mm forks and a new rear shock. Wider triple clamps are now being used, and the dash was also redesigned, with a backlit LCD screen.

The Eco and Sport riding modes are joined by a new, Custom one, all accessible with a right-hand handlebar-mounted switch. The FX also got a new, two-up seat, but the passenger pegs are still optional items.

The SR is the only machine with only one power train offer (the top one), while the rest of the line-up offers dual choices. We'll bring you detailed info on these bikes soon.
