Zero Motorcycles, the Santa Cruz-based electric motorbike manufacturer, have announced that they will be offering the first 25,000 miles-worth (40,000km) of electricity in the form of a pre-paid Visa card, for all motorbikes bought this year. The company have calculated the average cost of the electricity and have gotten a round figure of $200 (€155).
They will be organizing demo days, throughout the US, in order to attract more customers towards their eco-friendly two-wheeled creations. Officials are really proud of their line up of bikes and have made the following statement: “With rising gas prices and the summer riding season just around the corner, we want riders to enjoy an exceptionally fun and carefree summer of riding on a new Zero,” said John Lloyd, vice president of global sales for the company.

“The fact that Zero Motorcycles can offer to pay for the energy for the first 25,000 miles of riding helps to highlight the incredible efficiency of our entire lineup. We invite interested riders to schedule a demo ride at this weekend’s National Demo Day to both experience the ride and learn more about Zero Motorcycles,” the executive added.

We think this is a decent initiative, specially from a small manufacturer like Zero, but it is nevertheless a positive thing for their possible future customers.
