A wolf may change its skin, but never its character. Despite recent efforts from Chinese automakers to produce modern, relevant cars for domestic and world markets, there is still no shortage of knockoffs and copies of other European and American models recorded.

One such car is made by Yogomo, a small Chinese company that focuses on small vehicles. The four-door model they created seems to copy elements from the Citroen C1, Peugeot 107 and Toyota Aygo. First, there is the front fascia that looks like the one of the 107, with the same gaping chrome grille and tear-drop eyes. Even the short bonnet configuration looks identical to the French model.

At the rear, the car is a pure Aygo. It has a simple glass hatch framed by vertical stop light cluster. The shape of the bumper is the same as well, together with its plastic trimming. The body shape looks taller and less wide than either of the cars it imitates. The shoddy build quality can be seen in the pictures, with the panel lines between the doors looking particularly bad.

Behind all the copied bodywork lies a small electric electric city car. The car is 303 cm (119 inches) long, 140 cm (44 inches) wide and 148 cm (58 inches) tall. The wheelbase is 216 cm (85 inches) in length while total mass amounts to just 450 kg (999 lbs). According to the manufacturer, maximum speed is 80 km/h (50 mph) and range is rated at 160 km (99 miles) on a full charge.

The man behind this electric knockoff is Wang Yogomo DeLuna, a former manager of Lifan and Geely who started building his own cars in 2008, starting with a three-wheeler.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
