Yamaha YZF-R1 Ünkut for French Rapper Booba [Photo Gallery]
Besides rapping, Booba is also selling his own apparel line, Ünkut, and since he seems to like motorcycles, he collaborated with Yamaha France to built a showcase bike for advertising the clothes. That's how the YZF-R1 Ünkut came into being, a rather spectacular piece of sportsbike custom work with a neat, aggressive attire somehow boasting elegance and refinement... despite the gold inserts.
Rappers and gold go together quite well, though we're not sure how much would the Ünkut appeal to other R1 fans. We must however applaud that the gold accents are limited to a decent amount, and others could have made more liberal use of the noble metal.
The stock silencers gave way to dual carbon Akrapovic cans, just as natural as it gets, and the standard mirrors were replaced with custom ones. Seriously, we expected Booba went for a more aggressive mirror design, but maybe that's just us.
A nifty custom paint job blends in the snakeskin patter with mellow grey tones and golden pinstripes, and looks like a million bucks, even though R1 and snakeskin is not exactly the most common combination.
The Ünkut was built for show, but we could almost place wagers Yamaha and Booba fans would ask for a commercial version of the R1. Any way, quite a nice bike! Via MasMoto.
