World's Fastest CLK 63 AMG Black Series Breaks Record

The widened chassis was all about the track, while the 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated behemoth of an engine gave quite a bit more oomph than it needed.

With parts of the M156 engine borrowed straight from the M159 mill of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, the CLK's V8 developed 507 hp and 630 Nm (465 lb ft) of torque, giving the car a naught to 100 km/h (62 mph) time of just 4.3 seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph).

While not being the model's raison d'être, a stock CLK 63 AMG Black Series could do the quarter mile in about 12 seconds right from the factory. That is far from being a slow time, but the car would definitely need quite a lot of costly modifications on its naturally-aspirated engine in order to improve its specifications.

Well, as it turns out, that is exactly what the hardcore tuners from Weistec Engineering did to a customer's car, fitting the ol' CLK 63 AMG Black Series with their own three-liter Weistec twin-screw supercharger and a host of other Weistec goodies.

To put into perspective, the car in the video below puts around 1012 hp and 1356 Nm (1000 lb ft) of torque at the rear wheels now, to the point that it would probably need a wheelie bar.

Because of these insane numbers, the rear differential sports an ice box to keep everything cool after each drag run, despite the fact that the car is still street legal.

With that being said, the car in the video below is currently the fastest-accelerating street legal Mercedes-Benz on the entire planet, its 9.16 seconds at 241 km/h (150 mph) time at the quarter mile being pretty much untouchable at this point.
