Wife of Formula One Boss Officially Asks for Divorce
The news has been transmitted via PR agency Borkowski and seemed rather surprising for F1 boss as he confessed in an interview with The Daily Telgraph: “I didn't even know she had a PR company. You hear of things - I must find out.” However, one of Slavica's friends asserts Mr Ecclestone knew about the divorce and all he intends to do right now is to act as the “wounded party”. And we can not blame him for this as the divorce appears to be the most expensive payout to a wife in legal history.
F1 boss has an estimated wealth of £2.4 billion with properties all over the world, a Falcon jet, a 190 ft yacht and part ownership in Queens Park Rangers football club, which positions him on the 24th place in The Sunday Times UK Rich List 2008.
Their marriage has always been a matter of high debate due to the differences of age and height (she is considerably taller than him) between the two. The couple has two daughters, Tamara, aged 24 and Petra, aged 19.
Leaving school at 16 and going from one business to another, Mr Ecclestone mostly raised his fortune from television rights from grand prix racing. Yet, due to tax reasons, most of his wealth is on his wife's name.
According to Mr Ecclestone's declaration, his wife had moved from their Chelsea home because their next door neighbours were renovating their house and making an unbearable noise, under no circumstances due to a future divorce. During the divorce period, Mrs. Ecclestone asked for the respect of her and her children's privacy. Anyway, the event will have no significant impact on sport. If all ends well, she is to win a third or half of F1 boss's fortune. Not bad for the former Armani model...
