We don't know if Japan, Germany or the US invented the stance culture, but the JDM people come up with the craziest, most entertaining designs. Today, we're going to present a Toyota GT 86 that's been customized by a discrete company called 326power.
Like many tuning shops, it was founded by a professional drifter who wanted his style to be stamped over several of Japan's cult cars. Despite being on the market for two years, the Toyota GT 86 is still revered and idolized, so it was the perfect first target.
326power is all about having the right stance and set of wheels. In this case, this has been achieved by using something called an "outlip" design, where the rim sticks out further than the tire. Not only that but these custom alloys have lots of negative camber.
The wheels used aren't that large, only 18 inches in diameter. But they have a very deep barrel and a retro-inspired flat disc painted in multiple colors. While we've seen other Toyotas with this much camber, we've never experienced spiked wheel nuts that look like they came from a Roman chariot.
This GT 86 is a little bit different to the low riders we usually see. Normally, air suspension is used to get the stance because it allows the car to be raised using gas bellows. However, 326power got the same effect using conventional coilover suspension with fully threaded dampers.
From the drift-spec mirrors to the decals and the quad titanium exhaust tips, there are more custom parts on this car than the times Donatella Versace had plastic surgery.
As for the body kit, this seems to be the famous Freddy Rocket Bunny Version II, but without the custom front bumper. The aftermarket goodies are specifically designed to cope with oversized wheels and include massive fender flare inserts. Both the front and the rear bumpers receive extra aero components while a tall wing dominates the hind quarters.
