We love it when tuners know better than to fit a stupid body kit that ruins the look of a car we liked. But there’s nothing wrong with subtly enhancing a brand new model with big rims, because people who buy expensive cars tend to have a desire to stand out.
The R231 generation of Mercedes Benz SL was only recently launched. In fact, it’s so new that we don’t have a Brabus version yet, but we do have a Wheelsandmore model. The German tuning specialist has really slapped on a cool set of wheels... and more.
Because the AMG models were not available, the SL 500 was chosen for the makeover (that would be the SL 550 for US customers).
The body was wrapped in luminium-silver-gray high-tech film, and the factory rims have been swapped for 20 inch 6Sportz multi-part forged numbers, wrapped in Continental Contact 5P tires sized 245/30/20 at the front and 295/25 at the rear.
Through the magic of engine management, the 4.7-liter V8 has been boosted by 70 HP and 100 Nm of torque to produce 505 HP and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque.
