Kinky Kylie was the name Sebastian Vettel had given to his Red Bull Racing RB7 that helped him claim the 2011 F1 Championship, and that car showed she is still smoking hot even a few years after being replaced. At a demonstration drumming up support for the inaugural Russian Grand Prix later this year, RB7 caught fire as the driver was showing off for the crowd.
Things seemed to be going great for RBR junior driver Alex Lynn as he wowed onlookers with some high-speed passes as well as burnouts and donuts. During the final set of donuts, though, small flames can already be seen shooting from the engine compartment, but as soon as the racecar is brought to a stop, the severity of the fire quickly escalates. Fortunately, the RBR crew was quick to the scene to extinguish the flames, but sadly, the damage was already done.

Even after the flames were out, heavy white smoke still billowed from the car’s tail section, and by the time the smoke cleared, the heavy damage to the car’s body panels was obvious. Lynn appears to have escaped without any injury, although it isn’t clear what caused the fire or what other damage was suffered. Despite being a retired racecar, RB7 is undoubtedly worth a pretty penny both financially and for its race history. This car helped Vettel win his second of four consecutive Formula One Championship titles.

The Russian Grand Prix takes place on October 12, and it will run on a 3.6-mile track built on the property previously used for the 2012 Sochi Winter Olympics. Whether intended or not, this event will also mark the 100th anniversary of the last grand prix to be held in Russia back in 1914.
